What is Thai Reflexology?
Thai Reflexology is a millennia-old (originating in India 2500 years ago) and sacred form of bodywork that resembles shiatsu and is related to Nadi Sutra Kriya. The theoretical basis for this style of bodywork is the existence of the “energy body” which includes “sen” or energy lines through which our life force flows. In Thai practice, there are ten of the most important sen lines and these correspond to ten regions on the foot.
Throughout the Reflexology massage, the Thai Practitioner will place pressure on, squeeze or massage specific points of the feet, lower legs and knees. The therapist will use a Thai foot stick and apply various herbs, oils and lotions as well. The sessions will remove blockage, correcting energy flow within the body’s sens lines, and produce a deep and unique feeling of balance, relaxation, vitality and well being.
